Prior to your appointment, we will ask you to soften any wax in the ear canal to make it easier to extract by using a product called ‘Earol’ or ‘Cl-ear’. These clinical-grade oil sprays are easily applied directly into the ear via the pump nozzle and can be obtained from your local chemist.
During your appointment, we will ask you some medical questions before assessing your ears and taking photos of your ear canals. If wax is present, it will gently be removed via micro suction or ear irrigation, ensuring a safe and effective treatment.
You may experience some noise from the suction machine, but there should be no pain throughout the procedure. Microsuction is the gold standard of ear wax removal and is much safer than other methods. Once the wax has been removed, we will take another photo of the ear canal and advise you on any further treatment if needed.
